Alfred Ita Ituen is a distinguished counselling psychologist, instructional leader, and digital therapy innovator with over 19 years of experience spanning Africa, Canada, and Europe. His career represents a rare convergence of deep clinical expertise, global educational leadership, and a pioneering commitment to integrating technology into mental health care.
As a counsellor, Alfred has worked directly with hundreds of individuals—adolescents, young adults, families, and professionals—guiding them through trauma, anxiety, identity challenges, and life transitions. His approach is clinically transformative, blending evidence-based therapeutic practices with a profound understanding of cultural context and the unique pressures of modern life.
A Global Journey Rooted in Excellence
Alfred’s academic and professional journey reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence:
– Currently a European doctoral researcher in educational theories, counselling, and flexible learning pedagogy, where his research explores how flexible, technology-enhanced learning environments can transform human development and therapeutic engagement.
– Holds a Master’s in Guidance and Counselling (M.Ed.) and a Humanitarian MBA from the Roxburg Institute of Social Entrepreneurship, Switzerland, alongside a Modular MBA in Innovation and Strategy from Tekedia Institute, Boston, USA.
– His research includes groundbreaking work on the influence of social media on academic performance, school crisis management, artificial intelligence integration into counselling and—most recently—contributions to the European Erasmus+ FLeD Project, a collaborative initiative across seven universities in five European countries focused on designing flexible learning patterns for the future.

– Digital Therapy Integration: As a certified Microsoft Certiport Administrator, Oracle Academy Administrator, Google Virtual Classroom Facilitator, and UNESCO ICT-Competent Educator, Alfred has spent over a decade integrating technology into learning and therapeutic environments. He views artificial intelligence and digital therapy not as replacements for human connection, but as powerful tools to extend access, personalize care, and enhance clinical outcomes—a philosophy that sits at the heart of LPCC’s Virtual Counsellors Training Academy.
– Therapeutic Innovation in Practice: While serving as Head of Pre-University College and Head Counsellor at leading international institutes in Nigeria, Alfred designed and implemented groundbreaking initiatives, including:
– A Students’ Therapeutic/Stress Relief Centre offering pain management and emotional support.
– Gender transformative projects to boost inclusion and productivity.
– A Learning Support Centre addressing cognitive challenges and memory issues to enhance academic performance and social integration.
– Crisis intervention strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic, managing collective and individual trauma with compassion and precision.
– Scaling Impact Through Training: Alfred currently serves as the Co-Founder of Lifepower Counselling Clinic and Academy (LPCC Counselling Psychologists Community), equipping a new generation of practitioners with ArtificiaI Intelligence and digital therapy tools in Africa. He also doubles as a Program Administrator, Curriculum Designer, and Facilitator for the ICC Counseling Psychologists Community, a virtual network of over 100 K-12 schools and higher institutions where counselors engage in weekly mentorship and Joint Practice Development. This commitment to elevating the profession across Africa is integral to his personal philosophy, vision and mission.

Alfred Ita Ituen is a member of the Association of Professional Counsellors of Nigeria (APROCON), the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), the Cognitive Science Society (USA), a member of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), among other professional affiliations.
